Armidale Autumn
Festival is held each year in Autumn. 2006 saw the beginning of
the Festival with the Armidale City Canter - beginning at Sport
UNE and following the bike track to the creek lands of Armidale.
Over 400 people participated with the fast and fit pounding it
out to find a winner, to those who went along for a 4.5km
stroll. This was followed by Breakfast with the Bands, still on
the creek lands. The Autumn Festival Street Parade bought an
array of outstanding floats, followed by
relaxation in the Park (again on the creek lands), complete with
food and nick knack stores and bands playing The annual
fireworks were held the previous evening (on the Friday), which
were spectacular. For those who went along to
enjoy the festivities, a great time was had by all.
